No — you can self-refer and book directly. If you’ve been referred by a GP or clinician, you can still book here and bring any referral letter or details with you.

What happens at the appointment?

You’ll have a medical ultrasound scan performed by an HCPC-registered sonographer. We’ll talk you through what we’re looking at during the scan, and you’ll receive a written report after your appointment.

When will I get my report?

Reports are usually sent the same day in the vast majority of cases. If you attend late in the day or additional clinical review is needed, it may be closer to the 24-hour mark.

How do I choose the right scan?

If you’re unsure, book the clinic that suits you and choose the closest match (e.g., Abdominal, Pelvic, MSK, Hernia). If you want help deciding before you book, message us on WhatsApp with your main symptom, how long it’s been going on, and any relevant history.

Preparation depends on the scan type. Abdominal scans may require fasting for a few hours; pelvic scans may require a comfortably full bladder; MSK/hernia scans usually need no preparation. Your booking confirmation will tell you exactly what to do.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes — you’re welcome to bring a partner or friend for support (space permitting). If you’d like a chaperone, let us know in advance.
