1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of medhealthultrasound.co.uk (the "Website") and your booking of any scan or service with MedHealth Ultrasound Ltd ("MedHealth", "we", "us", "our"). By using the Website or booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Website or book a scan with us.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. Our services
MedHealth provides private, self-pay diagnostic ultrasound scans at our Portsmouth (PortsMed, London Road) and Southampton (Threefield Lane) clinics, carried out by HCPC-registered sonographers. Most scans are available on a self-referral basis, without a GP letter. Full service and pricing details are listed on the Website and are updated from time to time.
4. Medical disclaimer
- MedHealth is not an emergency medical service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E — do not wait for an appointment with us.
- An ultrasound scan is one diagnostic tool among several and cannot detect or rule out every condition. Your report should be read and acted on in the context of your wider clinical picture, ideally with your GP or a specialist.
- Booking or attending a scan with us does not create an ongoing doctor-patient relationship, replace your registered GP, or guarantee a specific diagnosis or outcome.
- If your scan identifies findings that need urgent attention, we will advise you of this directly and explain the recommended next step.
5. Who can use our services
Our scans are intended for adult patients (18+). [Confirm and update if under-18s are scanned, and add any required parental/guardian consent process.] You must provide accurate information about your symptoms, medical history and identity when booking, as this affects the safety and clinical relevance of your scan.
6. Booking, payment and cancellation
6.1 Booking and payment
Appointments are booked through our booking platform, Cliniko, either via the Website or by phone. Prices are as shown on our Website at the time of booking. Payment is taken in advance online, and full payment is required to secure your appointment.
6.2 Your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
As a consumer booking a service online or by phone, you generally have a 14-day statutory right to cancel without giving a reason. Because we typically deliver appointments within that 14-day window, we will ask for your express consent for us to begin the service (i.e. carry out your scan) before the 14 days are up, and to acknowledge that:
- if the scan is completed in full during the 14-day period, you lose the right to cancel once it's finished; and
- if you cancel after the scan has started but before it's complete, you may need to pay for the proportion of the service already provided.
6.3 Rescheduling and clinic-side cancellations
If you need to change or cancel your appointment: 24 hour notice period is required and refund processed in full via the Cliniko online payment system. If we need to cancel or reschedule your appointment (for example, due to sonographer illness or equipment issues), we will contact you as soon as possible to rebook or offer a full refund.
7. Using the Website
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website or its underlying systems;
- use the Website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it;
- submit false, misleading, or another person's information when booking, except where you're booking on behalf of someone else with their knowledge.
We aim to keep the Website accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available, and we may suspend or amend it at any time.

9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we provide the Website on an "as is" basis and make no warranty that it will meet your requirements or be error-free;
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website or our services;
- our clinical services are provided with reasonable skill and care in line with our professional and regulatory obligations, and nothing here is intended to reduce the standard of care owed to you as a patient.
10. Complaints
If you're unhappy with your care or experience with us, please contact us at contact@medhealthultrasound.co.uk or 023 8168 4646 so we can look into it. As a CQC-regulated provider, we take complaints seriously and will respond in line with our complaints procedure. You can also raise concerns with the Care Quality Commission (cqc.org.uk). For complaints specifically about how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy & Cookie Policy or contact the ICO (ico.org.uk).
11. Data protection
We process your personal data, including health information, in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as set out in full in our Privacy & Cookie Policy. By booking a scan or using the Website, you acknowledge that your data will be processed as described there.
12. Governing law
